Sandford won the toss and elected to bat on what was a very unpredictable wicket. Oxford Downs managed to bowl out Sandford for 145 in 41 overs. Pick of the Downs bowlers was Tom Costley who bowled a superb spell returning figures of 7-53. Also worth mentioning that Tom Costley was denied a hatrick due to a foot fault which was just hilarious….Only Tom Costley could do that. Sandford had a great 8th wicket partnership of 69 runs that brought them back in to the game.

A slow start to the second innings with Skipper struggling to pierce the defensive field set by Sandford and it wasn’t long before Skipper Mehmood was caught in the covers. However that meant Will Watts came to the party displaying one of his finest innings for Downs. Chris Sandbach and Will Watts scored a fantastic partnership of 102 runs before Chris Sandbach was out. Non the less Downs eased over the line with Will Watts finishing on an unbeaten 74 off of 74 balls.
