In a rain reduced game Banbury 3s batted and started well with opener Jarvis hitting 51.
Steve Roberts and Gus Watts gave good control but only made the breakthroughs until 12th and 13th overs, taking a wicket a piece. Matthew Young was the star bowler and put us in a strong position with 3 wickets from his 7 overs, in a great spell, leaving us in command at 118/6 with 9 overs to go. Unfortunately Banbury rallied well  and rode their luck with 60* from Proctor and 30 from Megson, leaving 203 to chase off 35 overs.
We did not start well after losing momentum towards the end of their innings and lost all top 4 batsmen with only 30 on the board from 8 overs. Paddy Daniel and Nick Angus built the recovery well against a strong bowling attack with a partnership of 46. We then suffered a collapse in the lower order until Steve Roberts rescued some dignity for us towards the end. Unfortunately Gus Watts was bowled with 6 balls remaining in the game and missing out on the draw.
Man of the match: Matthew Young, a superb spell of 3/37. Special mention to Gus Watts who was 1/28 off his first 7 before bowling  at the death with a short boundary tarnishing his hard work.
