Another hot day and the capt was thankful that on losing the toss we were still able to have a bat, unfortunately we were soon in deep trouble as we were 20-3 but Bartlett first then Soppett and Ben Ling with a very mature 39 gave us a decent position and with some lusty blows from Meardon, Potter and Watts we finished on a very respectable 169-9, special mention to Sam Collins who batted in the end and played very nicely indeed.

With a wicket with Steve Roberts first ball and then another wicket, Didcot were 20-2 and we were in with a great shout, however no 3 and 4 batted very well against some tight bowling from Roberts who’s 10 overs cost 17 runs with the one wkt. Gus Watts continued to put the Didcot batters under pressure, we managed one more wicket with a fantastic catch in the deep from Meardon, Didcot ran out easy winners with 7 overs remaining, however 6 points gained was a good performance against one of the top teams in the league. Shipton winning again however is a crucial blow in our bid to starve off relegation
