It was a hot day and the Downs team got through their warm up and prepped well for the game ahead. The same could not be said about the Wolverton team turning up less than 15 minutes before the game started.
Waz finally won a toss and elected to field. Wolverton never really got going with Tom Costley getting the early breakthrough of their captain accompanied by a fantastic diving over shoulder catch from Alex Ling.  For once it was a great all round performance from the bowling attack with Costley,Law,Rivett,Waz and Will all picking up 2 wickets each. Also worth mentioning was some fantastic fielding from Tom Welch and a great catch from Amin Rafiq in gully. Wolverton never really got going and were bowled out for 110.
The Downs batting line up made easy work of what was a very low score for that wicket. A dubious first wicket of Skipper Waz didn’t worry Downs with the depth of batting the first team have. A sublime innings of 63* from Will Watts and a solid 35 from George meant that Downs chased the score in 20.1 overs with 7 wickets to spare.
