Dinton won the toss and rightly, given the conditions, elected to bowl.

Mehmood and Sandbach got Downs off to a flyer finding boundaries regularly. Downs were going at 5 an over for the first 10.

It was not long after that George lost his wicket and it all began to lose momentum from there. Watts came in next and whilst looking great was softly dismissed. This then brought the swift entrance and dismissal of Elwood for a convincing LBW decision.  Mehmood still grinding it out and in came Frankie who saw off the seamers but to then fall victim to a fantastic bit of leg spin.  Downs continued to lose momentum with Mehmood losing being dismissed on 48 to a long hop from Dintons leg spinner.  The collapse continued and runs were few and far apart. A small glimpse of hope with a very valuable effort from Matt Woods who displayed some positive and confident batting finding a few boundaries against the spin attack.

However it wasn’t long before Oxford Downs were bowled out for a below par score of 170.

Downs responded with a great fight back successfully taking early wickets with some fantastic bowling from Matt Woods finishing with 4-55.  Some tight bowling from Harry Sutton kept the hopes Alive till the last few overs where Dinton managed to hold a few wickets in hand to eventually bring the game back.  A fantastic effort from the Downs to bring it to the wire however 170 proved not enough against the Dinton batsmen.

Dinton won by 3 wickets.
