Oxford Downs CC Summer Coaching Course

For Boys and Girls Aged 9 to 15 Years

We will be running the Summer Camp at the ground again this year. The course will be led by a top quality, highly qualified coach. The aim is to provide an enjoyable cricket experience whilst helping young players to improve their skills. All aspects of the game will be included, together with the opportunity for match play at the appropriate level.

Participants will be required to bring a packed lunch, drinks, sun hat and sun cream. The application and medical form MUST be completed and returned with the payment (links below). The fees for the days are:

Non Members - 1 day - £20, 2 days - £40 and 3 days - £60.
ODCC Members – 1 day £17, 2 days - £34 and 3 days - £50
Families: Non members 1 day - £18, 2 days - £36, 3 days - £55
Families: ODCC members 1 day - £15, 2 days - £30, 3 days - £45

In the event of bad weather or any other problems, we will be in the pavilion talking tactics and providing details on the mental preparation for a match and other coaching related materials, along with quizzes and dvds’ however if you have any doubts please contact me on 01993 702062 or 07879 422989.

DEVELOPMENT GROUP COACHING 2010

To All Parents and Players

For the first time this season the club will run an additional coaching opportunity which aims to develop further the skills and abilities of some of our players aged from 15 to 18 years.
We are very fortunate to have available the services of Darryl Woods and Kirk Steel who are both experienced Level 3 coaches. This is an opportunity for higher level technical coaching in a wide variety of cricketing skills and will include video analysis.

Coaching will be held at the club on Monday evenings from 6.30pm to 8 pm, starting on July 5th. There will be 4 sessions.

There will be a charge of £10 per session per person (£40 for all 4 sessions)

Selection Criteria

The criteria set out below have been agreed by the relevant age group coaches, including Darryl Woods, Kirk Steel and Doug Terry:

Aged 15 to 18 years during the season.
Fully paid up members
Produced notable performances in school and/or club cricket.
Shows a positive willingness to listen, learn and practice the skills of cricket.
Is determined and competitive with a healthy respect for the game and its ethos.

We are able to offer 16 places in total on a ‘first come first served basis’.

URGENT – COMPLETION OF JUNIOR MEDICAL FORMS

To All Parents and Guardians

Due to an administrative error on my part we have omitted to collect important medical information from Junior members this season. We would also like to update the medical data we already hold on our pre-2010 members. I would therefore ask all parents and guardians to download a medical form and complete and return it to Nicola Hunt whose address is at the bottom of the form. It would also be a great help if you could mention this to other parents who may have missed the newsletter and not seen this message on the site.
