Black Sheep
The ODCC Black Sheep were set up as an invitational side to play games at the Oxford Downs Cricket Club. The aim of the team is to play cricket in a friendly atmosphere within good company, light the Bar-B and worship at the shrine of the Black Sheep. The one we call "Pavillion". At times some Black Sheep are so overcome with the spirit of the occasion that you can see them prostrate before the altar within the shrine - which we call "The Bar in the Pavillion", or, as the night lengthens, " The Bar".
Our team mates range from complete amateurs to the game of cricket (we always hear, "I am interested, but haven't played since School" - don't say this to us unless you want to play!!!!) to current and ex players from the official Oxford Downs XI's. The games and atmosphere are enjoyed by all that attend, which is in keeping with the Oxford Downs CC tradition and spirit.
