Oxford Downs Cricket Club

Oxford Downs are a thriving amateur cricket club playing from Standlake (nr. Witney) in Oxfordshire. Our 1st, 2nd and 3rd XI's play in the Cherwell Cricket League - Divisions 1, 3 and 8 respectively - and we have a healthy number of junior teams involved in cricket in the area, including a girls cricket team.

Coaching is a priority, especially for the Juniors, and our Junior Coaching evenings are quite a spectacle with upwards of 100 boys and girls of all ages spread across the pitch, learning the sport with the help of many committed, approved coaches. (We should mention an equal number of adults spread in and around the clubhouse!)

Oxford Downs are as much a social club as they are a sporting one. Social members are welcome and enjoy the facilities of the clubhouse (bar, food, comfy seats, sport on TV, free WiFi access) and the regular events that the club organises throughout the year.

Somewhere in the middle of the cricketing and social sides are the Black Sheep. Less serious on the cricket side maybe, but very earnest on the socialising side. Not to be left out, the ladies have recently formed the White Lambs, who have similar aspirations. They would have been the Pink Sheep but that moniker has been claimed by the girls team.
